Welcome to Lotus Hair Studio, where we offer more than just hair and esthetician services!
Lotus is conveniently located downtown Fort Frances, Ontario, right across the border from International Falls, Minnesota.
No matter the service, we pride ourselves in customizing your service to best suit you. We believe everyone is unique in their own way, and we take pride in that! We love collaborating with our guests to design a look they will wear confidently until their next visit.
Our salon environment is inclusive, and our values and principles are rooted in respect, compassion, kindness, creativity, and collaboration. Listening to the clients wishes is key to happy clientele. We highly recommend a consultation to ensure we meet your desired outcome.
We care deeply about the environment and work hard to reduce our impact by recycling and creating as little waste as possible. Wellness is another one of our main values – whether it be for our guests or our team – we focus on creating a space where people feel relaxed and looked after well having to be exposed to the least amount of chemicals as possible.
We are an eco-conscious salon, who also uses Canadian products wherever possible, including our colour & lightening systems which are ammonia free, so no strong chemical smells or itchy scalp during the processing time. Our Esthetician also uses Canadian nail polish!
Lotus also likes to support local small businesses and carry local retail when possible.
Our permanent shine hair colour is formulated with an innovative exothermic technology that was designed to maximize dye penetration and minimize hair damage. Each shade was formulated to generate a specific increase in temperature opening the cuticle gently to achieve desired results without the need of another heat source.

Additionally, this 100% vegan care line contains argan oil which hydrates hair in a natural way while enhancing elasticity. Plus, it is completely sulfate, salt, and paraben free!

Hair Dresser/Owner
Hello, I’m Megan Finlayson, a Red Seal Hairstylist at Lotus Hair Studio with twenty-one years of experience. My cut, colour & updo work has been highlighted twice in Winnipeg Wedding Magazine. I was nominated for Business Woman of the Year by the Dryden Chamber of Commerce in 2018; then, this fall won the Business Woman of the Year Award from the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce. I have many certifications in my field, the most recent being a Master of Balayage.
I enjoy doing events like Cops for Cancer and haircut donations for Wigs for Kids whenever possible. Each person who comes to donate their hair, receives a free haircut as my way of saying thank you for helping others.
I enjoy cutting and colouring- highlights, balayage, and living in dimensional colours to create styles that turn heads no matter where you go. When I’m out of the salon, you can find me with my family, walking my dog, or on an adventure.

Hello, my name is Giselle. It has been a dream for me to one day become an esthetician. I love making people happy! Self-care is key to wellness, and I will encourage clients to take the time for themselves. I have been passionate about make-up, manicures and pedicures for many years. These will be my main areas of interest. I graduated in August 2022 from Seven Generations Education Institute in Fort Frances with honours.
I look forward to meeting your self-care needs.
